Privacy policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This notice explains how Protct Group Ltd ("Protct", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit our websites, buy from our store, request a sample or a survey, or otherwise contact us.

Protct Group Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Our address is Protct House, City Business Park, Leeds, LS1 5EX, United Kingdom.

1. The information we collect

  • Contact details — your name, company, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
  • Order information — the products you view, add to your basket and buy; your order history; delivery and returns records.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Enquiry information — anything you tell us in an enquiry, sample request, survey booking or quotation request, including project and site details.
  • Account information — your username and password, if you create an account.
  • Technical information — your IP address, device and browser, and how you use our sites.

2. How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To perform our contract with you — taking and fulfilling orders, arranging delivery and installation, handling returns, providing support, and managing your account.
  • Our legitimate interests — responding to enquiries and quotation requests, preparing surveys and specifications, improving our products and websites, preventing fraud, and keeping our sites secure. We balance these against your rights.
  • Your consent — sending marketing emails where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Our legal obligations — keeping accounting, tax and product-safety records, and responding to lawful requests.

3. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with organisations that help us run the business, and only for that purpose. These include Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment providers, our email and delivery providers, our hosting providers, and our professional advisers. They act on our instructions and are bound to protect your information.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of our business. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our websites use only strictly necessary storage: they keep your basket and, if you sign in, your session, on your own device. We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics or profiling on our sites, and we do not use cookies to build a picture of you across the web. Because this storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, we do not need to ask you for consent to it, and you will not see a cookie banner.

When you go through checkout or pay, Shopify and our payment providers set their own cookies to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. If we ever introduce analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.

5. International transfers

Some of our providers process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or the Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses), so that your information keeps an equivalent level of protection.

6. How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as we need them for the contract, and then for six further years, to meet our accounting and tax obligations and to handle any warranty claim. Enquiry and marketing records are kept only for as long as they remain relevant, and are deleted when you ask us to or when they go stale.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. These rights are not absolute and some exceptions apply.

To exercise any of them, email hello@protct.uk or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month. We may need to verify your identity first.

8. Marketing

We send marketing emails only where you have asked us to, or where the law allows us to email an existing customer about similar products. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Opting out does not stop us sending you service messages about an order you have placed.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@protct.uk so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF — ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.

10. Children

Our sites and products are sold to businesses and to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "last updated" date above.
